Concrete Structure Program
[Research Area]
The 'Concrete Structure' program focuses on the research of rational design of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures. It includes nonlinear and plastic analysis of concrete members, development of concrete structure design specification, and laboratory test of members. As application fields, bridges and cable supported concrete structures are also included. Recent researches of partially and externally prestressed concrete member design is applicable to the case of general arrangement of cable in and out of concrete members.

The Port Design and Engineering program focuses on training future leaders educated with special knowledges to plan, design, construct coastal structures and port construction projects by researching into pending issues in the construction industry. The research subjects currently undergoing are "Wave Measurements and Analysis on Ulsan New Port Area Projects", "The Cause of Damages due to a Typhoon attack in a Container Terminal" "The Analysis on Urban Effects due to Redevelopment of the Multi-Purpose Busan North Port"
Multiple research frameworks such as field measurements, case study, hydraulic and computational modeling are used to develop theories, methodologies, and design data that leaders in industry are in needs for effective project management.

- Surveying and Geomatics Engineering
[Research Area]
The Program "Surveying and Geomatics Engineering" is an emerging interdisciplinary major, which integrates a variety of surveying technologies into information technology. It deals with not only the acquisition, processing and analysis of geospatial data using both traditional and advanced surveying methods, but also the management, representation and providing of georeferenced data for several decision making projects.
The ongoing research projects are mainly focused on "Kinematic Applications of GPS in the fields of Land, Sea and Aerial Photogrammetry", "Direct Georeferencing with GPS/INS for photogrammetry", "Practical Test for Cartographic Potential of Digital Aerial Cameras", "Change Detection of Shorelines and Wetland Mapping using RTK-GPS, Aerial Image and Lidar Data", and "Extraction of Cadastral Information from Aerial Image Data." Throughout participation in above ongoing projects, program students are capable of contributing to the various fields of Geomatics Engineering, such as positioning, digital mapping, and managing of facility, land information, disaster and resource.

The CEM program focuses on training future leaders equipped with special management and analytical knowledges to plan, finance, build and operate global projects by researching into contemporary problems in the construction industry. The research subjects currently undergoing are "Risk Perception Analysis on Overseas Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Projects", "Automating Optimal Manpower Prediction in Design/Build Company", and "Development of Region-based Integrated Water PPP project." Multiple research frameworks such as survey, case study, statistical and computational modeling are used to develop theories, methodologies, and tools that leaders in industry are in needs for effective global project management.
